Information about results of water quality analysis in BV Posted 8/26/2011
BV HOA has completed the water quality study within BellaVita. This was conducted under contract to Severn Trent Services (STS). The test results were presented to the City of Pearland and some joint tests were then conducted with the city water department. Meetings between BV HOA, our STS contractor, and city officials have occurred over the last several weeks. Representatives of STS and the city supported the Board meeting on August 24th to answer questions about the water system. The conclusion of both our contractor and the city of Pearland is that the water at the meter supply meets the minimum standards for the City, State, and Federal authorities. Our test did indicate that the water tested at the valve at several homes shows a change in certain levels below those at the meter (hydrant) input.
The RAW data test results are attached to this notice. Please note that the objective of this study was to determine “water safety” and that individual homes systems can affect the inside quality of the water. The city has stated that they are responsible only up to the meter.
In an effort to provide additional margins of quality, the city has agreed to do several processes to bridge the gap before the new DIXIE ROAD interconnect is completed about next May:
· More tests than normally scheduled will be conducted to assure quality is maintained.
· Flushing of hydrants will be performed even thou water is being rationed within the city.
· A new flush valve will be installed to improve the Primivera and Tuschman streets water main flow.
· The city will perform a cleaning flush for all of BellaVita as soon as that can be scheduled within the city water usage constraints. Homeowners will be notified in advance so that they can coordinate any in-house water flush that they desire.
· The new Dixie water interconnect will remain on the fast track for completion.
